S.K has 8+ years of bookkeeping and HR support experience. Since 2007, S.K. has worked as the sole bookkeeper for a small IT staffing firm ($3-4M revenues). She was originally hired for an administrative role and was quickly promoted to Bookkeeper. She is responsible for bank reconciliation, deposits, invoicing, AP, AR, month-end close, payroll, and working with an outside CPA. In addition, she also provides overall office administration and HR support to the firm, including managing client and vendor relationships and overseeing a 3-person recruiting team during a time of significant growth. T.P. has 10+ years of experience in program management, event planning, research and analysis. She is a native speaker of Serbo-Croatian and holds a Top Secret security clearance. For over five years, T.P. worked as a member of the Community Liaison Office at multiple U.S. Embassies overseas. Her responsibilities included: planning events for the U.S. Embassy community; assisting newcomers with relocation, employment and education issues; producing various reports; publishing a newsletter; organizing incoming visits by high level U.S. Government officials; and supervising two employees. Additionally, T.P. worked as the Assistance Coordinator at the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Georgia, overseeing USD150million in U.S. Government assistance programs. Prior to her moving overseas, she worked as a Program Officer with an NGO in Washington, D.C., coordinating international exchange programs. T.P. has produced numerous papers and editorials on economic situation and foreign investment in Croatia. T.P. has a Masters in International Relations from Central European University in Prague, Czech Republic.

T.O. brings over 16 years of experience in IT project management and the design and implementation of technology solutions for financial and government clients. He served as a Project Manager and Director of Strategy Consulting for Experian Decision Analytics for 12 years, where he led the development and deployment of technical engagements for clients including JP Morgan Chase, American Express, Bank of America, Orange Communications, and others. T.O. helped design new functionality and develop the product roadmap for production software. Additionally, he was responsible for implementing those solutions in large-scale production environments, working directly with clients to insure successful deployment. Among the systems T.O. designed and helped implement include land reporting and delineation software for a government client and optimization decisioning software for a large number of financial and telecommunication industry clients. He has led design implementation project teams of varying sizes, applying extensive project management techniques. He holds a BA in Psychology and Philosophy from New Mexico State University and an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management.

A.H. has 10+ years of experience as an in-house General Counsel and executive-level officer for public and private biotech and consumer products companies.  From 2011-2013, she served as General Counsel for a private, early-stage nanotechnology company.  From 1998-2010, she served as EVP, General Counsel, and Director at PHLO Corporation and Affiliates, a public biotechnology company working within the beverage industry.  In both roles, she was responsible for all of the legal affairs for early-stage ventures, including drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts, raising capital, supervising outside counsel (intellectual property, regulatory, and litigation matters), handling corporate governance, and overseeing extraordinary transactions (mergers & acquisitions).  Her experience has given her the dual, sometimes conflicting, perspectives of attorney and business owner.  Recently, to achieve a more flexible schedule, A.H. has engaged in short-term, legal project work, including drafting and negotiating corporate documents for a law firm, SunEdison, and the Advisory Board Company.  She also served as Contract Author for Thomson Reuters Westlaw, drafting legal content for its online Business Law Advisor.  A.H. began her legal career practicing corporate transactional law and international trade policy at two law firms in Washington, DC.  She is a member of the DC Bar.  She has a BA from New York University and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.

J.V. is a “hands-on” finance and accounting executive and CPA with 25 years of experience. She has managed teams and has expertise in financial planning & analysis, reporting, technical accounting, treasury, tax, HR and IT. She has been instrumental in helping parties resolve contentious cases through effective client management, creative problem solving and skilled negotiation. Since 2007 she has been Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for a private-equity investment firm. She is responsible for limited partner reporting, financial statement preparation, technical accounting research, SEC registration document preparation, writing policies and procedures, and serving as audit and tax liaison. Currently she is assisting in the wind down of a fund and its portfolio companies. Prior to this, she was Director of Financial Reporting at two large defense contractors, Analex Corporation (2006-2007) and BAE Systems (2004-2006). In these roles she validated the accuracy of and consolidated company-wide financial data and performed external reporting duties. Earlier in her career, she served as Controller and managed all aspects of finance and accounting for privately-held companies ISR Solutions (2003-2004) and Invicta Networks (2002-2003). She is proficient in MS Office, Quickbooks, NetSuite, Deltek/CostPoint and Hyperion and has led several successful software implementations and conversions. She has a BS in Business Administration and Economics from High Point University and has an active CPA license in Virginia.

S.B. has over 9 years of operations support experience spanning event planning, office management, high-level executive administration, communications, and cost analysis in the federal, nonprofit, and commercial environments.  As co-owner of Bacus Woodworks, she currently oversees sales, marketing and business operations for a custom wood furniture business.  From 2014-2015, she was a Technical Cost Analyst for Scitor Corporation, where she created cost estimates, evaluated budgets, and analyzed life cycle costs of mission processing acquisition programs for a government client. From 2012-2014, she did similar work for Accenture Federal Services and was promoted twice in 8 months to Lead Technical Cost Estimator.  From 2009-2012, she was the Sr. Administrative Assistant for the VP of Federal Sales of EMC Corporation, where she solely supported a remote federal office of 70 employees, including creating forecasting reports, editing presentations, planning company events, and on-boarding new employees. She started her career at the American Lung Association as a Development Associate.  In addition, she also owned an event planning business (mostly weddings) from 2008-2012.  She has a BS from Radford University. S.B. has advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite and is proficient in QuickBooks and SalesForce.com.

C.M. is an account management, customer service, and administrative support professional.  Since 2012, she has worked as an Administrative Assistant for a large, busy optical and optometry office while also running her own successful Floral Design business. In addition, she has 4 years of account and relationship management experience working for Dynamic Business Interiors and American Office (office design and planning companies) as well as for Marriott ExecuStay, the temporary housing division of Marriott International.  These roles involved managing multiple vendor and corporate client relationships while consistently exceeding sales quotas to reach new target client sectors. She is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Quickbooks. She has a BS from the University of Delaware and has continued her education at Northern Virginia Community College by taking various business related courses.

J.S. has 15 years of IT and SDLC project management experience across both federal and commercial sectors, including large and small businesses. She currently teaches an evening software development project management course at ITT Tech.  From 2011-2015 she was a Senior Project Manager for an education software firm, where she managed a large-scale data migration initiative. In this role she led, coordinated and tracked progress for internal staff and multiple software vendors.  From 2009-2011, she worked for as small federal government contractor as the sole Project Manager on a GSA contract to develop a project information web portal.  From 2005-2009, J.S. worked for Monster Government Solutions as part of the project management team that created a web portal for USA Jobs, a job applicant tracking systems used government-wide.  Her primary focus in these roles were ensuring contract scope, schedule and budget requirements were understood, maintained, and effectively reported to C-level executives and client leadership. She also gained expertise in both commercial and federal contracts review and administration. J.S. is advanced proficient in MS Office Suite, with specialization in Excel, Project and PowerPoint. She has experience in software ticketing/incident systems using JIRA and REMEDY and CRM systems such as Salesforce. She has a MBA from John Hopkins and a Bachelors from Virginia Tech.

S.M. has 12 years of accounting and audit experience, including Big Four public accounting, internal audit, small company Controller, and SEC reporting. She is currently an independent contractor providing accounting services to small businesses. From 2011-2013, she was the Senior Manager of Accounting for Verisign, focusing on international accounting, consolidations, inter-company transactions. S.M. was hired as part of a team of accountants that transitioned the company from its west coast location to the DC area. From 2010 -2011, she was the Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager for RCN (a cable and internet company), focusing on SEC reporting, fixed assets, leases, and capitalized labor. She worked heavily on the division of the company’s accounting records into two separate entities. From 2008-2010, she was a Financial Reporting Supervisor at Gannett Co., working heavily in SEC reporting. From 2007-2008, she was Controller for Mooring Financial Corporation, responsible for all aspects of the company’s accounting, financial reporting, tax, and human resource functions. From 2003-2007, S.M. worked at Freddie Mac first as a Senior Internal Auditor and then as an Internal Audit Project Lead. She was promoted a second time to Accounting Manager, where she received awards for improving the efficiency of the account reconciliation process and reducing dependencies within key processes. She began her career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. She has a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and is an active CPA. She is proficient in Oracle, Great Plains, and PeopleSoft, and familiar with QuickBooks, Lawson, and Hyperion Enterprise.
