Hours/Schedule:  Full-time, Flexible

Rate: $120K-$140K salary plus bonus

Job Description: 
The Business Development Manager thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about uncovering and advancing enterprise prospects through the B2B sales pipeline. Primarily responsible for early-stage prospecting and growing top of funnel activities with the country’s largest employers, the Business Development Manager uses a collection of comprehensive sales enablement tools and mines data to uncover research and analytics that enable meaningful connections with prospective clients. This individual will have a proficient background that includes a mixture of sales operations, marketing, and analytics. This role will work in a team-based structure, developing and maintaining positive relationships with our Sales Directors. This position will be responsible for initial outreach to prospects, via digital and phone-based outreach, cultivating opportunities prior to transitioning them to a Sales Director.



  • Develop prospective large employer clients from company research, proactive phone calls, marketing efforts, and existing plan provider relationships
  • Uncover new opportunities to present and advance company's advisory and financial wellbeing services
  • Use critical industry platforms (including Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, PlanPro, ZoomInfo and Money Market Directory) to unlock key findings, trends, executive contacts and buying criteria for prospective large employer clients
  • Synthesize findings into meaningful, practical information to support well informed, data-driven decision making
  • Build relationships with key partners, including Regional Sales Directors, Consultant Relations, Relationship Management, and Marketing teams
  • Based on insights uncovered, work closely with Sales and Marketing teams contributing to the development and ongoing refining of the sales content library and customized, opportunity-specific content/strategies
  • Increase the number of large employer opportunities sold in each territory
  • Prepare and present reporting and ad-hoc analyses, as requested



  • 5+ years of financial services experience, preferably with B2B2C expertise
  • Experience successfully exceeding metric-based sales objectives, with strong project and leadership skills
  • Proven sales, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Polished executive and client-facing presence
  • Outstanding ability to analyze market trends and competitor behavior
  • Strong technical proficiency with sophisticated capabilities in sales enablement tools, MS Excel, and data modeling
  • Prior experience leveraging and gaining results through LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Experience with PlanPro and ZoomInfo beneficial, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sophisticated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Role may dictate need for ad-hoc travel
