Large, national supply distributor with corporate offices in Reston ,Virginia is looking for a Compensation Manager to join their team 


Hours/Schedule:  Full-time/ flexible


Job Type:  Direct


Location Requirements: Remote  , with occasional onsite meetings 

Rate: 120k-130k based plus a 15% annual bonus and excellent benefits

Job Description: 
 The Compensation Manager role will report to the VP of Total Rewards and support the Director of Compensation and the Division’s Human Resources function to ensure effective development, and delivery of compensation programs and services. This role will be analyzing large data sets from internal and external sources and will be articulating those findings to company leaders. This role will also administer current compensation plans and design new plans for broad based pay and incentive compensation.


  • Leads divisional salary compensation administration; builds and reviews the salary structure of the assigned division
  • Participates in salary surveys as required
  • Assists with incentive compensation design; this includes competitive benchmarking and positioning and providing recommendations for annual program changes
  • Oversees and administers incentive compensation plans throughout the assigned division
  • Responsible for managing the incentive accrual process for the division
  • Participates in the administration of annual performance management, merit increase, and annual incentive payout programs
  • Maintains and further develops our overall job architecture
  • Provides guidance for the development, implementation, and support of HR systems and databases
  • Advise divisional leaders on job description development, organizational structure, and compensation related matters (hiring rates, promotion, equity adjustments, etc.) to ensure equitable and consistent salary practices
  • Leads the communication of compensation information to leaders, managers, and employees
  • Assists in development of policies and procedures to support the compensation function
  • Supports due diligence of compensation matters during acquisitions and executive compensation as needed


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or another related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in compensation, preferably for a Fortune 500 company
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification, preferred
  • Proficient experience with Success Factors system software
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical curiosity and capability, project management leadership, responsiveness, results oriented, proactive, and ability to work autonomously
  • Advanced skill with Personal Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business acumen, financial concepts, and procedures
