A prestigious media company in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Contract Chief Financial Officer to lead the Finance and Accounting Team.

Job Description: The Contract Chief Financial Officer is based in Washington D.C. and will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of the organization, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring compliance with financial processes, best practices and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving financial success.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate financial results and analysis to executive leadership and the parent company.
Risk Management:
- Assess financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, laws, and standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and resolve any findings.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, and external partners.
- Communicate financial strategies and results effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA
- 4+ Years experience in a related role
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work in the United States without a sponsor visa
