Life sciences company seeks remote data engineer for its Pharma Services marketing group.

Position Title: Data Engineer, Pharma Services Marketing

Location: REMOTE

Job Type: Contract for at least 12 months (possible permanent role if fit is good).

Hours/Schedule: Full-time Remote

Rate:  $72/Hour

Job Description: The Data Engineer will support the Thermo Fisher Scientific Pharma Services Group at Thermo Fisher to leverage Data Analytics and Data Science to drive profitable growth. The successful candidate will manage our Marketing data and develop new analytics capabilities for a wide variety of marketing projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead data collection, integration, clean-up, and validation from multiple sources
• Build robust, efficient and reliable data pipelines
• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics and data science teams to increase data accessibility and quality, foster data-driven decision making, and drive adoption of digital transformation within the organization
• Work on developing, deploying, and improving data science models
• Implement processes to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it
• Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in the resolutions
• Design databases and pre-process data sets, enabling business to perform sophisticated business analytics efficiently and accurately, with ability to scale across regions and business units
• Develop, automate, and scale data analytics for business KPIs and key business initiatives
• Identify business problems and areas of opportunities and translate business needs into quantitative analyses that enable business to uncover patterns and insights
• Work with business partners to ensure prioritization in line with strategic initiatives and set goals to track progress on a regular basis
• Create dashboards and regular report-outs to measure business performance, including marketing effectiveness, share gain, customer acquisition/retention, cross sell
• Work closely with PSG Marketing and IT and corporate data science and data engineering teams to develop strategy for long-term data platform architecture within the organization
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications:
• BS or MS Degree in computer science, data science, analytics, statistics, applied math or related field
• An interest in Marketing
• 5+ years’ experience of performing data integration, pipeline development with data warehousing
• Experience in manipulating / managing large, complex, and unstructured databases
• Proficiency in Python and common Python libraries
• Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redshift, MySQL, or similar)
• Experience creating data visualization tools using Tableau or Power BI
• Familiarity with Databricks, AWS, or other cloud-based machine learning platforms
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate across audiences with varying technical and business backgrounds
• Ability to think critically and solve problems that are in line with strategic business objectives
