Job Description: The Development Associate is responsible for assisting in the administrative functions of the organization's fundraising efforts through a combination of donor database management, mailings and special events coordination. The Development Associate works collaboratively with the Development Team and Communications Team to achieve the organization's financial goals. This position requires close interaction and collaboration with other staff, community stakeholders and advisors. The Development Associate will have a firm understanding of donor database management and events management are encouraged. This position reports directly to the Director of Philanthropy.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain donor database; ensure valid donor data and donor stewardship, from entering donors, gifts, recognition and running reports.
- Assist in implementing organization's Donor Recognition Program
- Write acknowledgements for gifts and donations to the organization
- Prepare reports for the Development Team as requested
- Help manage fundraising: generating the list, drafting letters, and coordinating printing.
- Organize and execute bulk mailings in coordination with the Director of Communications or volunteers as needed.
- Assist in developing annual appeal letters and mailing lists.
- Solicit in-kind donations from businesses and corporations.
- In collaboration with the team help manage event logistics for the annual fundraising events
- Manage in kind donations
- Recording and tracking, and acknowledgement after the annual events
- Assist in implementing strategies from the Fundraising Plan, supporting the efforts of planning, and tracking donor prospects.
- Assist the Development Team in other fundraising programs as necessary.
- Work with the Development Team and Communications Team to maintain consistent donor engagement with the organization's website and social media channels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, business management or a related field or equivalent work experience in the field of development.
- Firm understanding and experience working with non-profit organizations and the fundraising aspects.
- Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Excel, experience in Neon or ClickBid is a plus.
