Non-profit empowering young people with learning and attention disabilities seeks part-time development manager
Hours/Schedule: 25 – 30 hours week
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Location Requirements: Hybrid, 1 possibly 2 days a week in the office
Rate: $35 – $40/hour
Job Description: The Development Manager will be responsible for coordinating the development process which results in raising the $900,000-1,000,000 needed to fund the operating budget and strategic initiatives. This process will also result in a more engaged and committed donor base with increasing donor retention. This position will project and manage all fundraising messaging, manage donor and prospect data, coordinate donor engagement strategies, and provide the reports and facilitate the meetings for planning, celebration, and accountability to funding goals.
Responsibilities:
MESSAGING
- Coordinate the revision of the fundraising case and communications plan
- Coordinate the preparation of staff, board, and volunteers with the case message
- Managing donor and prospect data to provide the development team with the focus to engage each prioritized segment of the donor base in a tailored manor
- Project manage and engage donors within the segmented donor engagement strategies in collaboration with consultants and executive director
- Individual meetings (weekly communications with executive director and other callers)
- Small group engagements and follow-up (quarterly events)
- Annual gala and follow-up (annual event in the fall)
- Foundation and Business engagement (monthly coordination meetings)
- Mass communications strategy (monthly coordination meetings)
- Thanking process (daily tasks)
- Project manage revisions of the annual resource development plan (annually)
- Coordinate Advancement Tactical Team (monthly) and Development Committee (quarterly) meetings for planning sessions focused on the execution of the annual resource development plan and regular accountability to goals
- Produce monthly reports for planning and accountability toward progress of annual resource development planning goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. 8 – 10 years related professional experience in nonprofits, project coordination, communications, or related work. At least 2 years of experience with nonprofit development and fundraising
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate significant projects
- Ability to write error-free business correspondence, reports, and presentation materials
- Ability to use and manage donor database systems. Specific experience with Bloomerang is a plus
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, presentation creation/editing, database, use of internet, and communication by e-mail.
