A pediatric research non-profit is seeking a results-oriented, part-time Director of Development
 

Hours/Schedule:  20-25 hours weekly

 

Job Type: Contract , on-going, possible contract to hire 

 

Location Requirements: Work to be done remotely but must reside in the DMV or Boston metro areas

Rate: $50/Hr.

 
Job Description: The strategic and results-oriented Director of Development leads the fundraising efforts and drives sustainable growth for the organization. They will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and overseeing all aspects of fundraising activities. 

Responsibilities:  

Fundraising Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Identify fundraising opportunities and innovative approaches to maximize revenue generation.

Donor Cultivation and Development:

  • Cultivate and develop relationships with existing and prospective donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
  • Develop personalized cultivation plans and engagement strategies to deepen donor relationships and increase donor loyalty.

Grant Applications Management:

  • Submit grant applications to secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and other grant-making organizations.
  • Manage the grant application process.

Major Gifts and Planned Giving:

  • Identify and cultivate major gift prospects to secure significant contributions in support of the organization's priorities.
  • Develop and implement planned giving programs to engage donors in long-term giving opportunities.

Board Engagement:

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to leverage their networks and resources.
  • Provide support, guidance, and training to board members involved in fundraising efforts.

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with demonstrated success in developing and implementing fundraising strategies and securing major gifts.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate major gifts from identification to cultivation to solicitation to development .
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Must have a strong work ethic with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.
