Location Requirements: Hybrid, 2 – 3 days a week in the office

Rate: $100,000 – $120,000 salary with excellent benefits

 
Job Description: The Director, Strategy and Marketing is responsible for leading and managing market data projects. The position will also be responsible for tracking program performance, coordinating consumer and retailer research efforts conducted by various departments within the organization, and working with the communications department to publicize and disseminate relevant reports and findings. The Director will lead interdepartmental meetings to facilitate collaboration and regularly develop reports for management. The key components to this position are market research, leadership and nonprofit experience.

 
Responsibilities:  

Industry Data

  • Manage third party vendors who collect and compile primary market data on industry shipments and prepare market forecasts
  • Provide written and visual analysis of market data
  • Manage the development and quality review of quarterly and annual market data for the industry
  • Assist in developing and carrying out new data gathering initiatives
  • Curate data from outside sources. Analyze raw data, surveys, research reports and other relevant information for products within or related to the industry. This will include crafting RFPs, interviewing prospective research partners (i.e. educational institutions, private research firms, etc.), establishing work parameters, managing work execution and designing options for presenting results
  • Collaborate with leadership to craft a strategy for growing data and analysis capacity in the mid- and long-term
  • Develop and deliver presentations and represent the Association at meetings and events
  • Manage vendors providing software used for digital data delivery
  • Lead the Statistics Committee (which meets annually to approve annual industry trends report, biannually to prepare market forecasts and as needed)
  • Keep leadership informed of data developments
  • Respond to press inquiries 

Program Data

  • Compile and analyze state program data
  • Report on insights and trends to management and other stakeholders
  • Collect, analyze, verify, and prepare data and supporting text for each state’s annual report
  • Develop Salesforce reports and dashboards in collaboration with the CRM Manager to make data readily available across the organization
  • Support and provide expertise for new data collection and data migration projects

Consumer and Retailer Data

  • Work with Marketing, Publications and third-party vendors to develop consumer research trends of interest to the industry and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Association and its third-party agency to develop consumer research and analyze and report on results to the industry.

General

  • Coordinate the development of different data projects to identify opportunities for synergy, to eliminate redundancies and inconsistencies Supervise publication, distribution and promotion of various data products
  • Other duties or tasks as required to meet the objectives of the organization
     

Qualifications: 
 

  • B.A./B.S. in business analytics, economics, or business from accredited four-year college/university. Master’s degree with emphasis data analysis preferred
  • Previous experience as a Director of Strategy 
  • 6+ years of data and business analysis experience
  • Strong data and program analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Project and program management experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint
  • Experience with queries, report writing and presentation of findings 
  • Experience with Salesforce or other customer relationship management software
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects and tasks
  • Ability to work both alone and in a team environment
  • Experience communicating program statistics and data to non-technical audiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Some travel required.
