Boutique Wealth Management Firm looking for a Director, Wealth Strategist to join its growing team.
 
Hours/Schedule:  Full-time, flexible
 
Job Type: Direct hire
 
Location Requirements: Hybrid with office in Newton. For MA-based candidates schedule can be 3 days on-site in Newton, 2 days remote.  Also open to fully remote for the right candidate.

Rate: $150,000 to $170,000 salary plus 30% bonus

 
Job Description: The Director, Wealth Strategist is part of a highly specialized team that provides advice and holistic wealth planning expertise to High-Net-Worth (HNW) clients (generally $3M+ investable assets). This strategist will act as a subject matter expert and authority on all implications of a clients Tax, Trust, and Estate needs. They will support the sophisticated needs of company’s HNW clients to include Tax, Trust, and Estates that in addition to other benefits can result in impactful savings to the end client. The successful individual will provide comprehensive and detailed advice and guidance to clients with complex financial affairs, substantial business interests, large family estates, and investment portfolios.  Responsibilities include:
  • Operate as the resident expert on sophisticated trust, estate and income tax questions and issues
  • Advise on, develop, and communicate sophisticated wealth planning strategies for HNW clients with complex planning needs 
  • Discover unknown needs from the clients to offer additional services of importance
  • Collaborate with internal teams (other planners, tax team, Portfolio Executives, client service, etc.) and external professionals (CPAs, attorneys, business advisers, other investment advisers, etc.) to support clients and ensure proper implementation of wealth strategies
  • Participate in new business opportunities and prospect calls to showcase wealth planning services
  • Represent company’s wealth planning services to external audiences (prospects, event attendees, media, etc.)
  • Provide thought leadership on the content pieces the group produces, including Financial Planning Fridays, podcasts, and webinars
  • Deliver regular reports on agreed-upon KPIs and provide weekly status updates and work-flow briefs on planning tasks, assignments, and presentations
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Wealth Services to set the strategic vision for the team 
     
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CFP® required
  • JD or LL.M. (tax) required
  • Master’s level designations desired, such as: AEP® (Accredited Estate Planner), CAP® (Certified Advisor in Philanthropy), or ChSNC ® (Chartered Special Needs Consultant)
  • 10+ years’ experience as a financial planner, tax professional, or estate planner
  • Deep understanding of complex investment, tax, and estate strategies
  • Excellent customer service, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent in-person and video call (e.g., Zoom) presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills specifically in eMoney, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Salesforce
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to independently prioritize work
