IT/Security company in Reston, VA seeking an HR Coordinator for FT Flex position

Job Description: The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely execution of day-to-day HR professional and administrative functions in support of the Director of Human Resources & Compliance, and the Corporate Operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Administers all aspects of the new hire onboarding process; coordinates all activities related to new hire onboarding (review of pre-boarding New Hire Paperwork, Signed Policies, Supporting Documentation for Form I-9, facilitates eVerify and addition to Payroll Platform).
- Facilitates review of New Hire Pre-employment Background Screening.
- Initiates Pre-Employment Drug Screening to New Hires (Program Specific – ONLY).
- Responsible for New Hire Orientation and hosts the engagement for employees and managers.
- Provides guidance to New Hires to ensure they are knowledgeable as to Benefit Offering, pricing, and enrollment/waivers within New Hire Enrollment Period.
- Reviews New Hire Benefit Elections to ensure compliance with Plan Documents (facilitates corrective actions as required).
- Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all organization personnel.
- Administers updates to corporate policies and procedures; may recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Executes various HR initiatives and/or special projects by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; and fulfilling the objective.
- Provides customer service support to the workforce on all Human Resources related inquiries and/or initiatives, i.e., benefits administration, training, performance management, onboarding, offboarding, corporate policy, employment, affirmative action, employment law compliance, etc. and escalates when needed.
- Executes employee status change requests.
- Works closely with Payroll to ensure that all changes related to and including benefits, taxes, direct deposit, and leaves of absences are in the system for all payroll cycles.
- Assists with the open enrollment process and ensures benefit enrollments and terminations are processed timely.
- Provides customer service support to the workforce on all Human Resources related inquiries and/or initiatives, i.e., benefits administration, onboarding, offboarding, corporate policy, employment, affirmative action, employment law compliance, etc. and escalates when needed.
- Provides support to Payroll, management, and other staff when sensitive questions and issues arise.
- Continuously maintains employee records and audits and updates all sites, systems, and databases quarterly.
- Creates/prepares reports and analysis using the HR information systems, and other software, as required. Compiles and distributes analytics and assists with special projects.
- Maintains Human Resources information system records.
- Administers all aspects of the employee offboarding process (to include, stakeholder communication, Exit Interviews, coordination with Administration to retrieve IT Assets, removal from Payroll Platform, provide terminating employee with separation information (benefits termination FAQ, facilitates COBRA Continuation).
- Facilitates Employment Verifications and DoD Investigations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- 2-4+ years of increasingly responsible experience in Human Resources may be substituted for a degree with a strong background in government contracting. HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) a plus.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in handling difficult and/or sensitive situations, personally identifiable information, salary, and other type personnel information.
- Must have an impeccable work ethic, the ability to make sound decisions, and a commitment to integrity and accountability.

- Must have an understanding of Human Resources best practices and current regulations.

- Hands-on experience with Adobe Pro
- Hands-on experience with ADP Payroll Platforms (Workforce Now, TotalSource), hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint a plus, utilization of Applicant Tracking Systems (Applicant Pro or similar) as well as intermediate to advanced excel skills.
