Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), providing customized professional services for government agencies seeks virtual, HR Manager with government contracting experience.
 

Hours/Schedule:  40 hours/week, flexible shedule

Job Type: Direct Hire

Location Requirements: All work is remote, but candidate must reside in DC, MD, VA or MA.

Rate: TBD, competitive salary plus benefits

 Responsibilities:  
 

  • Partners with leadership to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future best practices, talent management & retention, and succession planning
  • Provides support and guidance management and internal team when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
  • Recommends, develops, implements, and administers HR policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures
  • Collaborates with talent acquisition to understand skills and competencies required for openings for compensation benchmarking
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains past and current HR records; company organization charts; and employee directory
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions and ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and reporting
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; and submitting accurate reports
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, and employment law
  • Addresses and resolves and counsels employees regarding any concerns
  • Manages employee recognition program and quarterly company newsletter
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of human resource management experience required
  • Experience working for a federal contractor required
  • Experience with Paylocity a plus
  • Experience with SGA (Service Contract Act) a plus
  • Experience within a remote company, preferred
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certified, highly desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent prioritization, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
