Hours/Schedule: 15-25 hours per week, flexible

Location: Remote with occasional meetings in Fairfax, VA as needed.
Rate: $50-70/hour based on experience
Job Description: HR Manager will report directly to the CEO and support day-to-day human resource duties for approximately 50 employees. The ideal candidate for this role has proven expertise in Human Resources. This includes benefits and leave administration, compliance, compensation, payroll, policy development and implementation, and personnel management experience. The ideal candidate is a go-getter, detail-oriented individual with a strong desire to make an impact. Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Process all disability and leave of absence requests
- Administer the company’s 401k plan, including enrollments and changes
- Assist in creating and distributing internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, compliance, new regulation, or company policies
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs
- Assist in conducting monthly reconciliations for benefits, PTO, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements, and ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
- Oversee new employee on-boarding and orientation
- Process complaints regarding harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions
- Conduct off boarding, including involuntary terminations and exit interviews
- Assist in developing and executing HR procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
- Contribute to annual performance evaluation processes and ensure timely delivery
- Participate in development of HR objectives and systems for ongoing company requirements
- Oversee the upkeep of employee handbook and other company policies and procedures while taking initiative to contribute to policy development and implementation
- Provide audit support as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field
- 5+ years as a HR Generalist and/or Manager
- 5+ years of experience in Government Contracting
- Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations
- Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems (iSolved/PROCAS), and the ability to learn new technical systems as needed
- Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
- Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and significant knowledge of HR procedures and policies
- Additional HR training or experience is a plus
- Ability to work for any US employer without requiring sponsorship
