Software company in the Tysons area is looking for a Human Resources Generalist.

 

Hours/Schedule: 20-25 hours/week

 

Job Type: Direct

 

Location Requirements: Hybrid with Tuesday required in the office in Vienna

Rate: $25-35/hour

Job Description: Reporting to our C-suite and working closely with the Director of Recruitment, our Director of Human Resources provides strategic HR consultation, guidance, and proactive support of the company’s mission. You will manage four stages of the Employee Life Cycle (ELC): Onboarding, Development, Retention and Separation as well as the daily HR and Office Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • HireRight – manage background checks and vendor account
  • I-9/eVerify – advise new hires in completion of the I-9 process and records retention
  • Onboarding – 100% Virtual onboarding process, HR file management, DHS compliance training, advise new hires on policies and procedures, and new benefits management
  • Orientation – support transition of new hire onto project teams; for local staff – coordinate desk, key card, and local benefits (Uber accounts, Metro Smart Benefits, and fitness room access)
  • Semi-annual stay interviews – develop employee rapport and trust, identify and support employee professional development goals and resolve general employment issues, and educate employees on policies and review cycles
  • Performance Management – manage quarterly and annual performance review cycles utilizing ADP Workforce Now Talent Management system; track/update position titles and team management,
  • Compensation – annual salary negotiations and management
  • Training and Compliance – manage Sexual Harassment and Anti-Discrimination and DHS  training, vendor relationship                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   
  • Professional Development – identify, support, and track employee professional growth, training, and education
  • Remediation and Progressive Discipline – manage 4-step progressive discipline process utilizing ADP Workforce Now Talent system, train and support project and team managers,
  • Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) – train and support project and team managers to accurately record and follow through with employee PIP’s
  • Employee Engagement – monitors engagement and satisfaction through surveys, creates initiatives to meet our employees needs with a focus on overall  mission priorities
  • Recognition – birthday, anniversary, and significant life event recognition programs
  • Wellness – employee engagement surveys, Cares Program management, Wellness Wednesday communications, remote office support
  • Terminations – including exit interviews, last paycheck calculations, benefits cancelation, outplacement services, and equipment return
  • HR Strategies – align HR initiatives with mission and strategic plan
  • HR Metrics – maintain and provide accurate HR metrics to support business development, staffing, and succession planning
  • Employment Law – retainer agreement management, collaboration with employment lawyer, federal and state regulations and compliance requirements, update  policies and procedures as needed
  • Healthcare and Life/Disability Insurance Management – includes open enrollment, employee advisement, records management, billing reconciliation, and vendor relationships
  • HR Regulations, Requirements and Leave Management – FMLA/EFMLEA, ERISA, COBRA, ADA, HIPPA
  • EEOC and ACA – audits and compliance
  • Maintain accurate and private electronic HR filing system utilizing the ADP Onboarding and Talent Management portals
  • Internal Intranet – HR files management
  • Employee Manual and Holiday Schedule – maintain and update with current laws, regulations and policies as needed
  • Procedures – develop and maintain accurate payroll, onboarding, and office management procedures

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Development or other related field, required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of HR Operations and Management experience
  • Proficient in ADP Workforce Now required
  • Payroll and Talent Management systems required
  • HR Certified Professional (SHRM or PHR), desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, required
  • Demonstrated ability to implement new online HRIS systems
