Non profit located in Alexandria, VA is looking for a Manager, Finance Operation 
 

Hours/Schedule: Full time Flex

 

Job Type:Contract to Hire

 

Location Requirements: Hybrid, one day a week on site     

Rate: $80,000 year salary 

 
Job Description: 
Manages accounts receivable including collections of delinquent receivables. Ensures all cash activity is correctly and accurately recorded and posted to general ledger from ancillary systems. Manages grant/contract financial reporting and assists with federal audits. Provides support to accounts payable department as needed.

 
Responsibilities:  

 

  • Manage monthly AR reconciliation process, including collections, with AR support staff
  • Ensure all cash activities (dues, registrations, publications, etc.) are properly recorded in all ancillary reporting systems and agree with Great Plains general ledger
  • Review and validate monthly sales commissions for external and internal sales staff
  • Monitor and analyze grant/contract activities and prepare required financial reports, including annual ICP, and assist with federal audits
  • Manage inventory process, including quarterly reconciliations and year-end physical count
  • Serve as backup to AP Manager and assist AP department as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:  

 

  • BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance, CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 7+ years’ accounting experience in an automated accounting environment, nonprofit experience required
  • Systems knowledge, Great Plains and AMS experience preferred
  • AR collections experience preferred
  • Computer literate with Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Experience with federal grant reporting and federal audits preferred
  • Detail oriented and accurate with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
