A small non-profit organization whose mission is to continually advance cybersecurity seeks a part-time, mostly virtual Operations Manager.
Hours/Schedule: Approximately 10 hours/week to start. Hours could grow up to 16/week in Q2 of 2025.
Job Type: Contract to hire
Location Requirements: Most virtual but must be available for occasional meetings in DC Metro area and 4-5 in-person events per year.
Pay Rate: $30/hour
Job Description: The part-time Operations Manager will be an integral member of the team, managing various operational needs including grant and financial reporting support, packet preparation, and liaison to other part-time staff and volunteers. The position will report directly to the Executive Director and will be responsible for all operational and administrative support to ensure trusted relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. leadership groups, sponsors, volunteers, partners and allies), and to effectively and efficiently deliver professional services required to execute the operational plan.
Responsibilities:
- Event management to include marketing, on-site logistics, virtual (Zoom) management, and post-event evaluation
- Sponsor/ partners/allies database management
- Operational planning and project management to include implementation of strategic plan and tracking of budget
- EA support for Executive Director
- IT Administrator – Google suite
- Board and leadership support to include packet prep, agenda, and invites
- Business management (contracts and finance) – manage contracts with vendors and sponsors, finance and budget reporting
- Program management: create implementation plan to forecast costs, recruit volunteers and vendors, track and report progress and metrics
Qualifications:
- Association or non-profit experience required
- Ability to create and understand routine financial reports and records
- Experience with project management, ability to juggle several projects at once
- Strong organizational skills, efficiency and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to comfortably interact with colleagues, executive staff, board members and funders alike
- Ability to work independently, master new skills quickly and show good judgment
- Computer literacy, including proficiency using Google Workspace (or ability to quickly learn)
- Experience with events preferred
- Some knowledge of QuickBooks at plus
