Job Description: The Operations Specialist will work within the Corporate Actions & Pricing team and assume a lead role in the pricing and valuation functions. This includes the coordination and presentation of fair value recommendations for month-end valuation. The Operations Specialist will be responsible for managing the monthly fair value process from beginning to end as well as maintaining the daily price requests while overseeing the preparation of monthly pricing packets for presentation to Fair Value committee. The Operations Specialist will be responsible for corporate action research and processing as well as account maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Fair Valuation: Research and respond on daily fair value requests. Serve as a lead in the coordination and presentation of fair value recommendations for our monthly fair valuation process. Coordinate and review the preparation of monthly pricing packets by team members. Serve as a resource to various groups within the company as well as external parties for pricing and fair valuation related inquiries and requests.
- Project Management: Responsible for participating in various initiatives and projects within Corporate Action & Pricing group. Take a lead role in enhancing the current Fair value processes and reporting to increase efficiency and minimize risk.
- Assist with creating/maintaining the outsource operating model for the daily and monthly pricing process.
- Assist with creating/maintaining the outsource operating model for voluntary/mandatory corporate actions.
- Assist in development of requirements of daily pricing oversight.
- Establish /maintain outsource pricing guidelines for standing instructions. Work with fair value committee review policy periodically.
- Corporate Action Research, Processing, Support and Communications: Involvement in the entire corporate action (CA) life cycle for both voluntary and mandatory corporate actions. Serve as a resource to various groups within the company as well as external parties for corporate action related inquiries and requests.
- Assist with creating/maintaining the outsource operating model for voluntary/mandatory corporate actions.
- Cross train team members to provide additional coverage of the fair value pricing process. Maintain oversight of the fair value pricing recommendation process and individual valuation support creation by Ops Specialist.
- Oversight/support of data team to ensure all securities priced for trading purposes.
- Reconciliation of Account Holdings/Activity: Maintain account responsibilities of an Operations Specialist.
- Facilitate Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Reporting: Ensure accounting data is correct by performing account reviews at month end.
- Oversee and Maintain Inter-Departmental Relationships: Respond to special requests made by the clients, internal groups and/or consultants. Maintain collaborative relationships with the various teams within company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics or Economics preferred
- 2-4 years of relevant experience within the investment industry
- Strong analytical background and knowledge of financial accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and leadership skills
- Excellent business judgment, professionalism and integrity
- Detail oriented, flexible, and able to multitask
- Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently
- Demonstrated ability to maintain cross-departmental relationships
