Hours/Schedule: Approximately 8-10 hours/week, approximately 32-40 hours monthly
Job Type: Contract, 6 month contract with option to extend
Location Requirements: Hybrid schedule with weekly or biweekly visits to office in Boston
Rate: $40/hr-$45/hr
Job Description: Seeking a passionate and results-driven PR Strategy Consultant to build and execute strategic PR campaigns and marketing initiatives that help us enhance brand awareness, drive Spring Showcase event attendance, and grow our donor base.
Responsibilities:
PR Strategy Development: Develop and implement PR marketing strategies including target audience identification, messaging, and campaign tactics that align with the company's objectives.
Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, industry publications, and influencers to secure regular coverage and press mentions. Special emphasis on press outlets in Boston metro areas, including Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, MassNonprofit News, and other publications with high net worth philanthropic subscribers in Eastern Massachusetts. Proactively identify PR opportunities to enhance brand awareness.
Content Creation: Create engaging press releases, coordinate/edit blog posts, and help drive other content that highlights the organization's brand and impact driving social change in Eastern Massachusetts.
Brand and Event Campaigns: Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns including social media to promote their Spring Showcase event in May and overall brand. Collaborate with Director of Advancement on planning and Communications Associate/Co-op to execute campaigns.
Monitoring and Analysis: Evaluate the performance of PR, media coverage and brand marketing efforts and adapt strategies as necessary to maximize results.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of PR and brand marketing experience
Hands-on social media marketing experience, especially with LinkedIn
Experience engaging and nurturing journalist relationships, especially written press
Experience in the nonprofit sector preferred, especially with social, racial, economic, and environmental justice causes
Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
Enjoys and excels at content creation
Self-motivated and directed with ability to own work, take initiative, deliver
