Company: They offer continuing professional education to accounting and advisory firms and government agencies across the nation – including 25 of the Top 100 CPA firms. Known for our highly customized, flexible skills, knowledge and leadership training that keep firms performing at the peak.
 

Hours/Schedule: Schedule will vary depending on the course, but programs are delivered primarily from April through January. Opportunity exists to instruct 3 – 12 days per month. Classes are held both virtually (delivered from home or office) and in-person. Virtual classes typically run in ½ day sessions over several days and in-person are typically 3 days.

 
Job Type: Direct hire through client as a 1099
 

Location Requirements: Remote and on-site, depending on the class. The location and travel needs will vary, but most in-person classes likely require travel, typically for 3 days at a time. Must be available for both onsite and remote locations.
 

Rate: $180/hr – $200/hr depending on experience
 

Job DescriptionInstructors are responsible for multi-day training programs and deliver both virtual and in-person training programs to local, regional, super-regional, national, and international CPA firms. Classes include new-hire training programs through experienced manager-level programs and are designed to be highly interactive and engaging. Programs include many activities, exercises, simulations, and case studies to engage the learner and to provide practice applying the content.

The professional development courses cover non-technical topics that are critical to the success of professionals at accounting and advisory firms including communication skills, project management, time management, leadership topics and more.

The role requires significant practice experience at CPA firms with a passion for the importance of interpersonal skills in our profession. Successful candidates are those who desire to leverage their public accounting experience in combination with their natural inclination towards and passion for the teaching, coaching, and instructing facet of the profession.

Qualifications:

  • Current or former CPA or CA with six+ years, manager level or above, with public accounting firm or similar
  • Ability and desire to travel – most professional development programs are in-person
  • Recent public accounting experience
  • Experience delivering classroom and/or web-based training courses
  • Passion for teaching; engaging personality and teaching style
  • Curious, creative, positive and fun
  • Great communication skills and executive presence
