Family-friendly maker space dedicated to inspiring children in their exploration of STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math seeking a weekend onsite asssistant.
Hours/Schedule: 9:30am-6:30pm – 1 weekend day/week, Saturday or Sunday. Opportunity for additional hours with Instructor position.

Rate: $25/hr
Job Description: As Workshop Supervisor, you will help us inspire the next generation of scientists, programmers, roboticists, and engineers. You will have a variety of responsibilities aimed at encouraging a friendly and supportive environment for our staff and customers. To be successful in this role, you should be a personable, enthusiastic, outgoing candidate who loves expressing your passion for STEAM. The main responsibilities will be supervision of client staff on a weekend day and assisting with organization of classes and business.
Responsibilities:
-Exhibit fantastic customer service skills while greeting and interacting with patrons of the workshop
–Have the ability to work independently of the General Manager and Owner
–Manage weekend operations of the workshop including, but not limited to: Class check-ins, parent engagement, staff oversight, birthday party coordination, responding to email and phone calls, and daily cleaning Keep the workshop in a presentable state for customers
Qualifications:
–Must be enthusiastic about STEAM including science, technology, programming, engineering, math, electronics, or digital art
-Kind, friendly, patient, and know how to interact with children and their parents; comfortable working with neurodiverse children, adults, and staff Must have 1-2 years of relevant experience in customer service
-Comfortable working with Google Suite
-Must have good time management skills
-Clear and detailed communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with employees, parents/guardians, management, students, and the public in person, via phone, and via email
-Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
-Competency addressing emails and phone calls that need immediate attention; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
-Reliable transportation
-Able to lift and carry 20 pounds at least fifty feet; able to regularly stand, walk, sit, use and reach with hands and arms, climb, and balance
