Washington, DC based company providing management consulting services to finance and accounting departments across a wide range of US Federal Government Agencies, government contractors, and non-profit organizations, is looking for a part-time Project Accounting Manager.
Hours/Schedule: 35-50 hours per month

Rate: $55-60/hour
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for issuing the full monthly and annual financials and closing process including reviewing financials, analyzing, and posting journal entries, reviewing reconciliations, and reports. This role handles key accounting items such as revenue recognition, payroll entries and allocations, fixed assets, projects accounting analysis for several entities – all in Deltek Costpoint
- Accountable for monitoring the financial status of projects and the financial integrity of project reports and overseeing the accountant who interacts with the Project Managers
- Monitor and forecast cash flow which includes reviewing schedules that the project accountant prepared with the project managers on expectations of project forecasts, reviewing collection of accounts receivable and prediction of payments on vendor invoices
- Preparation of monthly variance analysis of actual operating results versus budgeted amounts
- Process payroll using third-party provider and support onboarding for payroll and benefits
- Support external audit and tax firms and manage the annual compilation/review process and tax returns for parent company and separate entities (entities use QuickBooks)
- Work with team and financial analyst in the annual budget preparation
- Identify project reporting from Deltek Costpoint that assists in preparations for project forecasting along with use of Purchase Order module and recommend efficient process flows
- Interface and work closely with Senior Management for financial statement review, cash flow discussions and other ad hoc reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-7 years recent professional accounting experience
- CPA background helpful/desired and in-depth knowledge of GAAP
- Government contracting experience is required
- Advanced experience with Deltek Costpoint is required, specifically in the following modules:
- Planning Module-for use of forecasting
- Projects Module-understanding of revenue formulas, burden and project reports and project setup
- Purchase Orders
- Accounting Module
- Time and Expense Module
- Must have knowledge of multiple contract types (Cost Reimbursable, Fixed Price, Labor Hour)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience using QuickBooks for small entities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Demonstrates problem solving and analytical skills
