Arlington, VA based leading management and strategic consulting firm is looking for a Senior Data Standards and Governance Expert
 

Hours/Schedule:  3 days week (3 – 6 months) 

 

Job Type: Project 

 

Location Requirements: Remote

Rate: $57/hour 

 
Job Description: 

Standardize large and different data sets and establish a process for harmonizing data elements across systems and organizations. Key focus areas include data quality, metadata management and master/reference data management. Looking for a seasoned professional to lead and direct the effort.

 
Responsibilities:  

As a Data Management authority, the candidate will:

  • Advise and direct the team on data standardization, data management, data governance, data sharing, data stewardship, and data architecture
  • Establish standards and guidelines in support of data management processes for monitoring and improving data quality, metadata management and master/reference data management
  • Establish and operationalize policies, processes and standards to ensure high levels of data quality, integrity, availability, security and usability across the Federal Government
  • Lead data management and quality control initiatives including the development of data definitions that ensure semantic consistency across systems and organizations
  • Develop data standard solutions, including the creation and maintenance of data registries and change control logs
  • Establish and roll-out data decision making processes and facilitate roll-out and continued support of these processes

 

Qualifications:  
 

  • 7 or more years of data management experience including monitoring and improving data quality, metadata management and master/reference data management
  • Agile methodology experience with Jira
  • Specialized business knowledge data management, analyzing and improving business processes and integrating new processes into technology solutions and standard human interfaces
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related fields
  • Familiarity with certification standards such as ISO 9001 and CMMI
  • Demonstrated skill in:
    • Written and oral communication

    • Problem solving; analysis; critical thinking
    • Balancing multiple priorities and tasks
    • Complex project management
    • Team leadership

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale Data Standards / Data Harmonization initiatives
  •  Broad knowledge and experience working with Federal government management practices
  • Related professional certification
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and knowledge of current Data initiatives
