CPA firm providing individual and business tax and accounting services looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to start in January 2025.

Position: Senior Tax Accountant

Location: Hybrid. Office in Littleton, MA; mostly in office during tax season

Job Type: Direct placement

Start Date: January 2025

Hours/Schedule: Full time, mostly on-site during tax season. More flexibility outside the tax season to work remotely.

Rate: TBD based on experience

Job Description: Responsible for managing client relationships, reviewing and signing individual and business tax returns and developing and supervising staff.  Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee individual and corporate tax issues on a regular basis. Review and sign income tax returns for individual, trust, partnership, and corporate clients.
  • Assume the responsibility for the smooth flow of tax returns
  • Analyze IRS notices and directly drafts responses.
  • Perform more complex tax research and review research projects of others.
  • Offer ongoing status updates to management and staff.
  • Meet with current and prospective clients, and cultivate referrals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/necessary.
  • Identify tax issues and provide tax planning advice to a diverse client base.
  • Work closely with clients to develop strategic tax plans.
  • Oversea and train staff on tax and accounting matters and ensure proper execution of assignments.
  • Mentor staff through efficient delegation, management of talent, and coaching.
  • Proactively develop process improvement strategies to make the business more efficient on an ongoing basis.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License required (active)
  • Strong background and understanding of individual and small business tax returns
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws while being current with new developments
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Lacerte tax software a plus
  • Personality and communication skills to be client-facing and handle client relationships
  • Ability to work quickly, yet accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • High level of ethical and professional judgment
  • Organized, demonstrate problem solving ability and exceptional reasoning skills
  • Self-starter, team player, and a positive attitude
