Successful and well established business equipment and service provider on the South Shore is seeking a Staff Accountant who is familiar with working in a small company environment.  Ideal candidate has strong computer systems skills, soup to nuts accounting experience, can prepare reports on Excel and has worked on Sage accounting software. This role reports directly to the owner and has visibility throughout the company with the sales and services teams.   
 
Hours/Schedule:  15-20 hours per week, morning hours are preferred, but there is some flexibility with work schedule.  
 
Job Type: Contract to Hire
 
Location Requirements: Prefer on-site, some remote work is a possibility if desired.

Rate: $40/hour

 
Job Description:  This role will own accounting functions and be responsible for tying out the financials.  There is also a part-time AP/Payroll associate on the team.  Responsibilities include:
  • Perform multi-entity accounting
  • Process GL journal entries
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Financial reporting 
  • Accounts Payable check runs
  • Payroll and payroll tax accounting 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Overall ease with computers; strong Excel knowledge; experience with Sage accounting software a plus
  • Small company accounting experience
  • Exceptional communication skills and comfort speaking to customers both inside and outside the company
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Approaches challenges with positive energy and resourcefulness
  • Success working both independently and as a member of a team.
