Washington DC based residential property management firm is looking for 2 part time Staff Accountants to cover a 40 hour week

Hours/Schedule:  2 candidates to divide a 40 hour week 


Job Type: Contract to Hire


Location Requirements: Remote 

Rate: $35/hour 

Job Description: 
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for executing the full cycle of accounting functions, budget and strategic growth. This position reports to the company President.



  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Responsible for financial reporting requirements for the managed properties
  • Run weekly reports to support sales team
  • Assist with the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Prepare and send annual 1099's
  • Oversee third party data entry related to accounts payable
  • File Sales/Use tax and Foreign Tax Withholding monthly Communicate with Guests, owners and team member via phone, chat and email
  • Build relationships at all level of the organization to promote strong communication
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (required)
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience in Property Management preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online
  • Experience with Buildium, Yardi or Appfolio preferred 
  • Strong attention to deadlines and keeping schedules on track 
  • Ability to function effectively and independently in a dynamic environment
  • Preference for an environment that encourages open communication and coordination
  • Flexibility and willingness to pitch in where needed
