Alexandria, VA company that researches and develops innovative transport technology is looking for a Test Engineer

Hours/Schedule:  40 hours week, combination of Remote and on Site 

Job Type: Contract

Rate: $70 – $75/hour 

Job Description: The Test Engineer will validate system behavior to requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the project’s design and scheduling changes to support QA effectiveness, focus and communication
  • Identify, track and address project risks, action items, and milestone deliverables
  • Communicate out project status to QA Leadership and key project and corporate stakeholders
  • Work with Analysts to interpret testing needs as requirements are being developed
  • Evaluate testability of business and technical requirements based on business/functional requirement document(s), use cases, user stories and/or solution design document
  • Participate in requirement/design reviews; identifies gaps  and probes for detailed explanation of expectations
  • Participate in architecture and technical specification review and provides feedback on content and testability
  • Contribute to requirements traceability matrix
  • Evaluate test performance and identify potential problem areas

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science required
    5+ years of experience with simulated and real-world tests of multifaceted real-time systems
  • Experience in testing and commissioning toll collection and traffic management systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with requirements analysis, software development and implementation activities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and experience using HP ALM or various testing tools
  • Knowledge of programming languages is a plus
  • Knowledge of database technologies and SQL is a plus
