Private Equity Firm seeking a VP, Fund Accounting and Operations to join their team and contribute to their continued growth

Job Description: Responsible for overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the management company and Funds including accounting, investor reporting, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and review deliverables from the fund administrator, including quarterly/annual financial statements, capital account allocations, management fees, fund waterfalls, expense allocations, and capital calls/distributions
- Oversee capital call and distribution calculations and manage overall call/distribution process with the fund administrator
- Manage fund liquidity needs and forecasting, supporting capital calls, distributions, and investment planning
- Manage banking relationships and manage capacity on the Funds’ credit lines as well as borrowing base compliance/covenants
- Facilitate valuation process on a quarterly and annual basis with the investment team
- Coordinate with tax advisors and supervise preparation and filing of annual tax returns and other required tax filings
- Assist in the year-end audit process, working with the fund administrator and external auditors
- Manage side letter reporting requirements and help respond to ad hoc investor requests
Management Company
- Review quarterly/annual financial statements and supporting work papers from management company accountants
- Process invoices weekly and expense reports monthly
- Oversee payroll and other administrative financial tasks
- Manage banking and other vendor relationships
- Maintain and update budget and cash positions/projections
- Maintain accurate employee records, onboard new employees, work with outsourced benefits advisor to procure and managed health insurance and other HR benefits
- Work with outsourced compliance advisor and assist Chief Compliance Officer as needed
- Coordinate with tax advisors and supervise preparation and filing of annual tax returns and other required tax filings
- Assist in the year-end audit process, working with the management company accountants and external auditors
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting (ideally focused on private equity funds), private equity fund accounting and/or private equity fund operations
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and private equity accounting principles
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects and deadlines
- A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
