She is currently a Medical Technologist using her teamwork, communication, and documentation skills to provide accurate and precise results. Currently, she is working in a Core Lab performing diagnostic tests and analyzing patient specimens efficiently with a strong sense of detail when validating data using a variety of lab equipment on a day-to-day basis. From 2018 to present, she is also working as a Medical Technologist in another lab at a level 1 trauma center in a Blood Bank as part of a team readily responding to immediate operating room requests and providing the best customer service possible to healthcare providers. With S.F.D.’s passion for science and health coupled with her capabilities, she has assumed responsibilities for being the point person for quality control checks, implementing safety protocols, and troubleshooting lab instrumentation. From 2015-2016, she worked as a Clinical Lab Assistant II where she processed and managed the inventory of research samples following different protocols with proper storage and shipment to ensure the integrity of each clinical trial. Through her work experiences, she has become advanced in Cerner, Sunquest, and EPIC software widely utilized in many hospitals. S.F.D. has a Master of Public Health from MCPHS University, a BS in Biology with a Chemistry minor from Salem State University, and attended George Washington University to obtain a Medical Technologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
