S.M. has 15+ years of experience managing small and large PR and communications efforts on behalf of corporate, nonprofit and government clients, primarily through messaging and public education and outreach campaigns. Most recently, S.M. served as a Consultant on efforts to target, educate, and seek support from nonprofit organizations regarding drug therapies coming to market or changing in status (prescription to over-the-counter). The bulk of her PR account management experience was at global PR firm Porter Novelli from 1998-2005, where she worked on and managed accounts ranging from pro bono efforts to annual revenues of $2.5M. Her expertise included messaging and messaging strategy, materials development, media outreach, research, creative development, events, oversight of staff, and budget management. In addition, she has experience in donor coordination and outreach for an endowment campaign at a nonprofit. S.M. is proficient in MS Office Suite and familiar with Lexis Nexis for research and donor outreach. She has a Bachelor’s in Communications from N.C. State University.
