T.F. is an accounting and finance professional who is also a social entrepreneur, inspirational speaker, and best-selling author. An ICAN prize-winning chartered public accountant and active CPA, she has 18+ years of experience from diverse sectors including energy, non-profit, Fortune 500 companies, and Big 4 public accounting firms. Since 2015, she has been an independent consultant, providing accounting and financial management services to clients. From 2009-2015, she rose through the ranks at the American Federation of Teachers to the role of Assistant Director of Financial Services. In this role, she investigated complex and highly sensitive fraud and financial malpractice cases; developed and delivered financial training to union executive board members; implemented financial strategies for unions undergoing financial challenges and receivership; reviewed and analyzed financial statements for affiliated labor unions; prepared and presented financial review reports; and evaluated internal control systems and proposed improvement measures. From 2004-2007 she worked for Constellation Energy first as an Associate in the Controller’s Group and then as a Strategic Finance Manager. She began her career working at Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers. She also invented “money color”, a revolutionary system that helps individuals understand and improve their relationship with money, and ultimately authored the book What Color Is Your Money? In addition to her financial management expertise, T.F. created and hosts Impact Africa, a radio program about African entrepreneurship, and is the founder of United for Kids Foundation, which earned her an award at the Nigeria Centenary USA Awards in 2014. She has an MBA from Emory University and a Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
