Law firm looking for a seasoned Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team
Hours/Schedule: Full-time/Flex
Job Type: Direct Hire
Location Requirements: Hybrid, the majority of this job can be done remotely with some onsite 3-4 times monthly in their Bethesda office as needed
Rate: $70k-$75k, excellent benefits
Job Description: Looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end. Additionally, the Bookkeeper will handle coding, journal entries and general ledger reconciliation and perform data entry, cash applications, and full cycle A/P.
Responsibilities:
- Post Accounts Payable journal entries and ability to process high-volume vendor payments
- Maintain bank reconciliations for the organization
- Running the client billing cycle – start to finish
- Create and analyze financial statements and all supporting documents
- Keep general ledger updated
- Prepare 1099's, and other IRS year-end requirement
Qualifications:
- 5+ year experience with bookkeeping and accounting functions
- Bachelors degree preferably in Accounting or Finance is ideal
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
- Experience with ProLaw, legal and billing software (preferred but not mandatory will train on ProLaw)
- Highly organized, flexible, and able to change course when dealing with changing priorities
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and posting journal entries
- Experience with a variety of financial reporting
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Exceptional spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Flexible learning style, with a positive can-do attitude
- Willingness to handle other tasks as needed
- Eager to learn new software solutions
- Strong productive independent work qualities (e.g., punctual, reliable, hard-working, team player, etc.)
- Able to work well with all levels within the Firm
