It won an Emmy its first year on the air, and was recently sold to Participant Media and converted into a different network. At the Doc Channel, she was responsible for all aspects of acquisition and programming. In her role, K.P. connected daily with documentary filmmakers, producers and distributors, in the evaluation, negotiation and licensing of documentary features, shorts and series. She attended and participated in top-level film festivals and their forums, alongside peer commissioning editors from BBC, A&E, HBO, PBS and other international networks. She also served on numerous documentary festival juries, as well as participating in events planned and sponsored by the channel at venues such as the Paley Center for Media and The Museum of Natural History. K.P. conducted many interviews for their original series “Doc Talk” with well-known documentary filmmakers, among them the late Bob and Nancy Drew, with whom she created a retrospective of their own favorite films for the channel.
